BHP Billiton - IM Integration

In order to achieve a low risk, seamless and immediate transition to self performance, BHP Billiton Iron Ore conducted a friendly acquisition of 100% of the contract mining assets and employees of Henry Walker Eltin (HWE) which service BHP Billiton Western Australian Iron Ore. 

BHP Billiton Iron Ore IM was requested to integrate all IT assets and intellectual property acquired in a seamless transition process. The ICT part of the transition included 4000 users accounts, 1000 workstation, 100 servers and 10 locations in Perth Metro, remote sites in the Pilbara and Data Centre locations in the Eastern States.

asento were engaged in Technology Enterprise Architect, Programme Architect and Solution Architect roles, planning and developing technology architectures, solution designs for application migrations and to lead and govern the implementation process.

Rio Tinto

Project management services on the Cyber Program that has a number of programs that focus on reducing the security risk of the organisation.   The overall portfolio has a budget in excess of $150m.  Involvement includes an upgrade of all end user device across APAC West, including Corporate and I&OT devices, to Microsoft Window 10. Total number of devices is in excess of 10,000.   The other project is to run a global project to deliver a Unix SOE across the organisation.  The aim is to standardise on Redhat LInux as the platform of choice for all new Unix install.  The project will define and build a solution to deliver an SOE.  It will also implement a mechanism to register all current Unix system with a view to patch them to latest versions of operating system or migrate them to the agreed SOE.  The agreed solution is a Redhat Ansible Tower for the SOE with Redhat Satellite for the registration, reporting and patch management.
